Astilleros Menorca was the first name of the Menorquin Group when it was established in 1978. That took place in the Island of Menorca (Balearic Islands), in a privileged environment, and world reference for leisure sailing and water sports, where the nautical tradition has a personality of its own, seen in the local boats, the emblematic Balearic Llaüt (llaut, llaud)
But Menorquin doesn't just build small classical Llauts, named Menorquin Llaut. The Menorquin shipyard has managed to perfectly blend the traditional values and típical style of the Balearic Islands boats, with the advantages of the state of the art technologies, in the Menorquin Yachts range. The Menorquin Yachts range are semi displacement or semi planing mid size luxury boats, that are superior in many ways to trawlers to which they are generally compared. Their sea keeping capacities can be compared to those of muctrh larger displacement boats. Their cruising and maximum speed are far larger than other semi displacement boats, without compromising their economy and habitability. All these factors make the Menorquin Yachts range a boat type of its own.
The Menorquin Yachts success formula has enamored their wealthier owners so that they asked the shipyard to make larger models, than the Menorquin Yacts 180, Menorquin's flagship up until 2009. The Menorquin Custom Yachts range inherits the distinct aesthetics from the smaller Menorquin boats, offering high luxury yachts or navettas.
Menorquin shipyard also produces the LARGO brand, that inherits everything but the Balearic style from the other ranges. This sporty classical line run about range is launched with a beautiful 10 meter boat.
Menorquin has also have a clear international projection, towards which it has experienced a great development in the last few years, becoming a reference amongst the Spanish shipyards and also amongst Interational ones.
Their large distribution network and their presence in the largest international boating industry events make this niche producer, a true success case.

July 2011 is a historical date for Menorquin because of the launch of the Menorquin Yachts - Efficient Line. Production will start with the e43 model. Being a 12 meter LOA yacht, it has the volume of a 14 meter yacht. That is because the Efficient Line has a different engine layout that provides much more internal volume. The new engine options include a Hybrid dual engine option (diesel/electrical) but also a pure electrical transmission engine option (variable generators and electrical engines). Menorquin has managed to save 70% of diesel consumption with this last option, available as from 2012.
Menorquin Group offers the possibility to share the property of a Menorquin Yacht, by means of the Menorquin Share service.
Menorquin Group also offers a wide range of services called Menorquin Services. Both the shipyard and the distributors and agents, can offer a full maintenance service that include repairs, refit and maintenance services of Menorquin built boats.
